PSA Oxygen Concentrator Technology

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is a technology used to separate some gas species from a mixture of gases under pressure according to the species' molecular characteristics and affinity for an adsorbent material. It operates at near-ambient temperatures and differs significantly from cryogenic distillation techniques of gas separation. Specific adsorptive materials (e.g., zeolites, activated carbon, molecular sieves, etc.) are used as a trap, preferentially adsorbing the target gas species at high pressure. The process then swings to low pressure to desorb the adsorbed material.

1. Welding and cutting: oxygen is now considered to be one of welding industry's raw materials, and which is essential for all forms of combustion.
2. Glass blowing: oxygen is always used as the mixing gas in scientific glassblowing. To generate oxygen for torchwork and glass blowing.
3. Aquaculture: in aquaculture, oxygen is diffused into water to increase stocking density and production yields. Consistently higher dissolved oxygen levels result in lower mortality and higher food conversion rates, minimized fish mortality from decreased disease rates and fish stress, pumping cost saving due to reduced water re-circulation.
4. Sewage treatment: fill the sewage with pure oxygen, increase the respiration of aerobic microorganisms, thereby purifying sewage.
5. Oxygen source for ozone generator: ozone is a powerful disinfectant and bleach with the advantage that it does not leave chemical residues, and is less harmful to people and the environment. Therefore, ozone is often used in the prevention and control of disease and pests in agricultural, the disinfection of fishing boats, swimming pools, etc., the washing and disinfection of clothes in industrial laundry, etc.
